WWII M35 ET66 German Heer Tri-Color & Woodchip Camo
Item H440: This helmet is from my personal collection. Only selling because I recently purchased a 1948 Harley-Davidson. It was indirectly Veteran sourced by myself out of Medford, Oregon back in March of 2009. Unfortunately there is no provenance. It is also published in Paul Martin’s book titled “The Camouflage Helmets of the Wehrmacht“. Exterior displays a tri-color pattern mixed with woodchips. Colors are green, tan and dark red mixed with woodchips and or sawdust to give it that rough texture. A very strong 98% of the camo remains. Super tight fitting liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Goat skin leather liner fully pliable, undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. Drawstring in full length with original knot still in place. WWII M35 SE64 German Army Camo Helmet
Item H466: Here we have an exceptional and very desirable camouflage helmet in the perfect size for sale. Exterior displays mostly a tan camo paint with a green and dark red paint on the rear of the helmet which are all standard pigment colors for a Normandy style camouflage. A very beautiful crazing can be seen in the paint throughout. Under the right airvent where a typical National color decal would be placed has been removed per an early war directive. The left side of the helmet has been painted very thick but it appears to be a Heer decal under the paint according to the tell tale signs. A small but unobtrusive impression on dome. Tight fitting liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Goat skin leather liner fully pliable, undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. Correct and reinforced aluminum liner band dated 1940. Authentic drawstring appears to be in full length. Named in white paint on the rear of the flange to the German soldier Theißen = Theissen. The same name Theißen = Theissen is inscribed on the leather liner as well. Overall excellent condition.

WWII M40 Q64 German Heer DAK & Sand Camo Helmet
Item H441: This helmet is from my personal collection. Only selling because I recently purchased a 1948 Harley-Davidson. It was indirectly Veteran sourced by myself out of the Sparks, Maryland area back in November of 2010. Unfortunately there is no provenance. Exterior is a DAK/Afrika Korps tan camo with red sand from Tunisia mixed in to give it a rough texture. There is a red bleed through in certain areas from the sand. The red color in the sand was formed from a ferric oxide and only located in Northern Africa. A very strong 98% of the camo remains. Super tight fitting liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Leather liner fully pliable, undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. Drawstring in full length with original knot still in place. Buckle end of chinstrap is steel with approx 95% of the gray paint remaining. Long portion of strap is in full length and pliable. Authentic and factory applied Heer adler decal commensurate with the overall wear and also comes in at approx 98%. Super tight fitting liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Goat skin leather liner fully pliable, undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. One of the air holes on the leather liner has not been completely punched through and just hanging on which also indicates minimal usage. Drawstring in full length with original knot still in place. Buckle end of chinstrap is steel with also approx 98% of the gray paint remaining. Long portion of chinstrap in complete length and fully pliable with manufacturer and 1940 date clearly on tip. This is a nearly unissued German Army helmet in fabulous condition.

WWII M40 Q62 German Army Helmet
Item H461: Exterior displays very light wear with approx 97% of the factory feldgrau paint remaining. Authentic and factory applied “Bigfoot” decal commensurate with the overall wear and also rates approx 97%. Small bulge from the inside toward the outside caused by an unknown source. Price: SOLD
WWII M35 Q66 German Heer Single Decal Helmet
Item H433: Exterior was originally issued with the smooth factory parade paint which can be clearly seen under the rough texture. The helmet was then period repainted with a rough texture to fit within the 1940 specs. Authentic and factory applied Heer adler decal is the earlier pre “Bigfoot” decal. The “Bigfoot” decal was introduced after the style you see below. An outline of the National tri-color decal is under the reissue paint. There is also some crazing in that area which would certainly indicate a decal under the paint. Liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Single ply aluminum liner band is manufacture and dated D.R.P. Schuberth Werke K.-G. Braunschweig 1937. Leather has 3 tabs broken from the tips. Drawstring in full length with original knot in place and also features sealant still on both of the tips. Buckle end of chinstrap is aluminum. Long portion of strap is fragile and missing an inch or two from the tip. Overall a very hard helmet to find in this configuration and in very good condition.

WWII M35 ET68 German Kriegsmarine Shipboard Helmet
Item H415: Here is a very rare and hard to find Kriegsmarine shipboard painted helmet with painted around decal and in a very large size. Most of these helmets are at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. Entire exterior has been period overpainted by the sailor leaving the decal exposed. A certain amount of rust bleed through is clearly evident which was caused from prolonged exposure to the salt water elements. The authentic and factory applied KM adler decal exhibits the proper layering which almost gives it a 3D appearance. Toward the bottom of the decal are multiple semi circular pattern wear marks which I would consider are attributed from the helmet rocking back and forth inside of a cradle which held the helmets in place until needed. There may have been a rivet that caused the specific wear. (See attached period photo from ship). Liner system 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners intact and complete with all three slotted washers. Reinforced aluminum liner band manufacturer stamped Werner Zahn and dated 1939. Goat skin leather liner fully pliable, relatively undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. Only some slight chaffing to the leather. Drawstring in full length with original knot in place. Nicely named to German sailor in white paint on the rear of the flange. Overall very good condition.

WWII M38 ET71 German Paratrooper Double Decal Helmet
Item H453: Extremely hard to find no matter what condition and in a very large size 71. Exterior displays very light to moderate wear with approx 95% of the factory paint remaining. Both authentic and factory applied decals commensurate with the overall wear. The Luftwaffe adler decal shows light scuffing in the torso area while still retaining much detail. National tri-color decal has a nice age toning color with minor surface abrasions evident. A 1939 quality control ink stamp is clearly visible on interior crown of helmet. This is a highly desirable helmet that does not become available too often. Even though the liner is missing I have to rate it a very good to excellent condition.
Price: SOLD
WWII M38 ET68 German Paratrooper DAK/Tropical Camo Helmet
Item H446: This fantastic helmet has been in my personal collection many years. The helmet came from Illinois but unfortunately has no Veteran provenance. It is an Afrika Korps/Tropical Fallschirmjäger helmet that has a rough texture base created from sand mixed with tan paint which encompasses 98% of the exterior of the helmet. In my honest opinion the chipping to the left and right side was caused by an unknown source. I come to that conclusion because the same exact chipping is evident on the front of the helmet. Liner system is 100% original to the helmet. Each of the four spanner bolts has 2 nuts attached that have never been tampered with. The grayish concussion pad still has some give to it. Leather liner 100% intact and fully pliable. Chinstrap harness 100% intact, fully pliable but has a small WWII period repair on one side. PRYM snap 100% correct. Very high grade helmet that does not become available too often.

Drawstring is is place. Buckle end of chinstrap is steel with approx 75% of the gray paint remaining. Long portion of strap is in full length and pliable. Manufacturer and 1941 date on tip. WW2 M38 ET68 German Fallschirmjäger Single Decal Helmet
Item H438: Exterior displays only surface oxidation with approx 85% of the factory paint remaining. Authentic and factory applied Luftwaffe adler decal perfectly visible and is commensurate with the overall wear. It too rates approx 85%. Liner fits snugly within the shell and is original to the helmet. Each of the four spanner bolts are complete with two nuts per bolt which securely fasten the shell and chinstrap harness together. Leather head liner does have a couple of mouse nips and is still pliable. Chinstrap harness does have a nip as well but otherwise complete. Correct Stocko snap in place. Black foam concussion pads all intact and seemingly soft. There are two pieces of string tied to the liner near the chinstrap harness which leads me to believe it may have had a net applied during the war. A real barn find from Ohio but has no Veteran provenance.

Buckle end of chinstrap is aluminum. Long portion of strap is fully pliable but missing an inch or two from the tip which was period cut down to accommodate the soldier. Overall excellent condition.

Obviously assembled during the transition from M35 to M40. Single decal Kriegsmarine decal is the correct ET style which has that layered 3D effect. No National tri-color decal can be seen on the opposite side because it never had one. Liner band and rivets original to the helmet. Two rivets are dated 1939 and the third rivet dates 1940 which also distinguishes this helmet to be a single decal issued M35. The helmet also features a light quality control ink stamp visible on interior crown of helmet.

This was sent to me by the Nephew of the Veteran that brought the helmet back from Europe…
It was brought back after WWII by my uncle, Colonel William Thomas Watson. He served in France and Germany in the infantry. While I don’t know a great deal about his military history, he did fight at the Battle of the Bulge. During the battle, the radio with his group (I don’t know enough military jargon to know the technical name of the group a colonel would command) went out. Due to the lack of radio, they did not get the order to retreat. Because of this, at one point his unit was some number of mile behind the German Lines. After the war he brought this, along with a German gas mask, a canteen, a few swords and pistols, and some other stuff to my father, who was his younger brother, as souvenirs. My father, Charles Vernon Watson, was also a colonel, but he was with the marines in the pacific, 1st and then a founder of the 4th division. in the artillery. When I was a kid my friends always wondered why my father WWII sword had a Swastika on it. I don’t know the particulars of how he acquired the helmet, but it would have been during the actual war as he came home when the war ended and war not one of those who stayed around a long time after the war. For most of the time since then it was in my parents and my home. (Around 1957, after the movie The Vikings came out with Kirk Douglas, it briefly became a Viking helmet as I invaded England every afternoon after school, although it was really to heavy for me to wear well).

WWII M40 Q66 German Wehrmacht Tri-Color “Normandy” Camo Helmet
Item: H269 Very highly desirable and sought after camo helmet with great eye appeal. Collectors have coined this type of camo a “Normandy” tri-color pattern. Goat skin leather liner fully pliable, relatively undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. A few stitches have become loose at the rear seam. WWII M40 EF64 German Army Single Decal Ex Whitewash Helmet
Item: H212 Here is an authentic period ex whitewash camo helmet. Most of what collectors call ex whitewash helmets are mistaken and improperly described. If there is a small white build up around the rivets or in low areas it is really just oxidation from the aluminum oxide mixed in the paint. What is offered here is a true ex whitewash. On the under side of the helmet a white paint can be clearly seen in the corner of the factory fold over as well. Authentic and factory applied Heer adler decal is approx 80%. Liner system fastened with the early style steel spanner bolts. Each of the 4 bolts has 2 collared nuts affixed to them which are untouched (see attached photos). Black foam pads are stiff with slight give which is what you would want to see. Leather liner has darkened from age. It does not appear to have been treated with a protective coating by a previous owner. I believe it may have been pomade or similar hair wax worn by the soldier. WWII M16 Austrian SS-VT Helmet
[Item: H85]
For sale is an excellent example of an Allgemeine-SS transitional helmet, circa 1935. This helmet is one of an evident batch of these which were contracted at the same time by the SS and outfitted in the same facility. They reflect the contract nature of SS acquisition at that time; parts liners, domed retaining rivets, assorted style chinstraps and thin quality satin black over field grey finishes. This shell is marked “EB”. This exact helmet is pictured in SS-Steel, pp 42-43. The decals are classic CA Pocher runic and party shields, showing a small amount of enamel retouch to the runes. Taken with the overall condition of this helmet, this retouch appears to be period done, as was often the case when helmets were being repeatedly polished and prepared for parade use, and decals would flake or diminish. The helmet bears the name “Huska” in the dome. A classic Allgemeine helmet in a known configuration. Price reflects the overall condition and rarity of this piece, and includes certificate of guarantee of authenticity.
